As a tribute to book lovers and house icons Coco Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel transformed the Grand Palais into a multi-floor library for its Haute Couture Fall 2019 show. The runway saw models wearing tweed overcoats, skirt suits, puffed sleeves, and wire-framed spectacles. CR girl Kaia Gerber and others walked the show in Edwardian silhouettes, decorated with minimal embroidery and feathers. Ending on a feminine note, the show closed with a pastel pink tiered set, underscoring creative director Virginie Viard’s elegant and charming vision.
