Made Goods Showroom Debuts on Beverly Boulevard
L.A. design brand Made Goods now has a brick-and-mortar presence at 9011 Beverly Boulevard. In its new West Hollywood Design District flagship, the company offers its full range of products. “Los Angeles is our hometown. We knew that when the time came to open our doors here, it would have to be special,” Chris DeWitt, president and cofounder of Made Goods, tells AD PRO. “This being our 10th year in business, we’ve learned what works for our customers, and we made sure this showroom was a homecoming and celebration of the best of Made Goods.”
Jamie Bush Designs Capsule Collection for Flaneur
Los Angeles–based AD100 designer Jamie Bush has collaborated with dyed-to-order bedding company Flaneur on a new capsule collection, called Pavia. Bush drew inspiration from the Valentino Spring 2019 couture collection’s vibrant approach to color. Pavia comes in three colorways (Chang De, Baskerville Hall, and Tokyo) and costs between $860 and $1,100 per set.
Modernica Releases Limited-Edition Chair With Krink
For its latest limited-edition Case Study Fiberglass Shell Chair, Modernica tapped Brooklyn-based creative brand Krink to design a run of 100 chairs. The upholstered fabric design is based on original work by Krink founder and owner Craig Costello.
Mehraban to Host Gulla Jónsdóttir at After Hours Design Lounge
Gulla Jónsdóttir will be the guest of honor on Thursday, August 22, at the Mehraban showroom for its After Hours Design Lounge series. The cocktail party’s theme is “Art of the Boutique Hotel,” and the event will include a casual conversation with the West Hollywood architect and designer. The evening kicks off at 5 p.m. at 545 North La Cienega Boulevard.
Pacific Design Center Fall Market Announced
The Pacific Design Center Fall Market, titled “Inspired Style: How Design Influences a Well-Lived Life,” is scheduled for Thursday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The day will feature open showrooms, receptions, and the introduction of more than 100 new lines. Confirmed speakers include Estee Stanley, Paul Fortune, Thomas Lavin, and Natasha Baradaran.
Refoundry Maker Workshop to Welcome Next Class
Refoundry, the training and entrepreneur program for formerly incarcerated individuals, hosts its next Los Angeles Maker Workshop and pop-up shop on Saturday, August 17. The group was cofounded by Cisco Pinedo of Cisco Brothers and Cisco Home with Tommy Safian. The hands-on event takes place at the Los Angeles Design Center at 5955 South Western Avenue. Registration is open online.
