Community School Districts and Tanger Outlets to Organize Back-to-School Events

As the 2025-26 academic year approaches, Keller Independent School District (Keller ISD), Northwest Independent School District (Northwest ISD), and the Tanger Outlets in Fort Worth have announced a series of back-to-school events. These initiatives, set to take place in late July and early August, aim to provide crucial support and resources for families to ensure a smooth transition into the new school year.

Keller ISD’s “Back-to-School Bash” is scheduled for July 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fossil Ridge High School, located at 4101 Thompson Road, Fort Worth. This event serves as a one-stop resource hub where district families can access essential services including school registration assistance, eye exams, dental screenings, and vaccinations. Attendees will also benefit from various community resources designed to support student health and well-being, alongside engaging activities such as school supply giveaways, games, and snacks.

Meanwhile, Northwest ISD is organizing multiple back-to-school events throughout the district. These include camps, school tours, and “meet-the-mascots” events to foster school spirit and community engagement. A significant highlight for eligible families is a back-to-school fair offering free school supplies. Communications regarding this event have been directly sent to families that qualify, signaling a targeted approach to aid those in need.

Additionally, Northwest ISD is inviting community members to participate in their volunteer program, which offers opportunities to assist before, during, and after the events. Volunteers can sign up online and are encouraged to contribute by donating supplies as needed. The district is actively accepting donations until July 24, and volunteer days are scheduled for July 24 and 26, with activities taking place at all Northwest ISD schools.

Complementing these school initiatives, Tanger Outlets in Fort Worth will host a “Back-to-School Bash” on August 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This family-friendly event will feature activities including live music from a DJ, a photo booth, and food options from a pizza food truck, creating an inviting atmosphere for community engagement. The Tanger Outlets have partnered with the Northwest ISD and the United Way of Denton County to promote a school supply donation drive, providing an opportunity for local residents to contribute essential items for students. Donations can be made in person or online during the drive, which runs from August 1-2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

These collaborative community efforts emerge as valuable resources, addressing the anticipatory needs of families as they prepare for the upcoming school year. Through comprehensive support measures, Keller ISD, Northwest ISD, and Tanger Outlets are not only easing the transition back to school but are also fostering a spirit of community involvement and collective responsibility.
