Chino Hills Introduces New Mobile Recreation Program for Youth
The City of Chino Hills is set to enhance its youth programming with the launch of a new mobile recreation vehicle, aimed at providing free and safe after-school activities for children across five local neighborhoods. This initiative will commence on Monday, August 11, marking an important expansion of recreational opportunities for the community’s youth.
The drop-in program will cater to students from kindergarten through sixth grade and will offer a diverse range of activities designed to engage children’s interests and promote their well-being. Activities will include arts and crafts, sports, games, and homework assistance, reflecting a holistic approach to after-school care. Such initiatives are increasingly recognized as essential in fostering social skills, creativity, and academic support among young learners.
Parents interested in enrolling their children in the program must complete a registration process at the start of each academic year. This ensures that the program can effectively accommodate the needs of participating children while maintaining a safe and organized environment. Registration can be completed online by visiting Chino Hills Mobile Recreation or in person at the Chino Hills Community Center, located at 14250 Peyton Drive. For further inquiries, parents can contact the center directly at (909) 364-2700.
The mobile recreation program will operate at various parks throughout Chino Hills on specific days and times, facilitating accessible opportunities for children to engage in physical activity and creative expression. The schedule is as follows:
– Mondays: 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Pinehurst Park (5800 Park Drive)
– Tuesdays: 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Hunters Hill Park (6070 Natalie Road)
– Wednesdays: 11:15 AM to 4:30 PM at Crossroads Park (2765 Chino Hills Parkway)
– Thursdays: 11:15 AM to 4:30 PM at Los Serranos Park (15450 Pomona Rincon Road)
– Fridays: 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Torrey Pines Park (5011 Torrey Pines Drive)
This program not only underscores the city’s commitment to fostering youth engagement through recreational activities but also acknowledges the growing need for safe spaces for children after school hours. With community support and active participation, the Mobile Recreation Program is positioned to significantly enhance the quality of life for families in Chino Hills, ensuring that children have access to enriching experiences right in their neighborhoods.
