Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation Partners with Foundry10 to Enhance Literacy Access in Education
The Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation (SVSF) has announced a significant partnership with foundry10, an education research organization known for its philanthropic focus on enhancing learning experiences for students. This collaboration aims to improve access to literacy resources and curriculum at preschool and elementary levels within the Snoqualmie Valley School District (SVSD).
The initiative seeks to address educational disparities faced by students in the region, empowering educators with additional resources to foster improved academic outcomes. The partnership aligns with SVSF’s commitment to enriching the educational landscape within the district, particularly in the realm of early childhood literacy.
As part of this partnership, the foundry10 team will allocate ,000 to support literacy initiatives, which include the acquisition of vital reading materials and resources for both the upcoming SVSD Early Learning Center (ELC) and existing elementary schools. The ELC is set to open in the Fall of 2025 in North Bend, Washington. This facility will serve a dual purpose: offering preschool programs, particularly for students with special educational needs, and providing daycare services for the children of SVSD staff, thereby streamlining early childhood education services in the district.
SVSD’s ELC is expected to accommodate approximately 100 to 120 preschool students qualifying for special education and an additional 20 to 30 children from staff families. Moreover, the establishment of a full-day preschool program within this new center reflects a growing recognition of the importance of comprehensive early childhood education for developing foundational literacy skills.
Lorraine Thurston, President of the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership, stating, “We are excited to embark on this new partnership with foundry10. Early childhood literacy support is key to student success, and SVSF is dedicated to ensuring all students have the opportunity to become strong readers. This support will allow us to continue our dedication to literacy.”
Foundry10’s engagement in this initiative underscores its broader mission to innovate and expand educational opportunities. The organization employs a unique approach that integrates research, philanthropy, and program development grounded in evidence-based practices. With over a decade of experience, foundry10 collaborates with various stakeholders to refine and promote educational strategies that benefit youth inside and outside traditional classroom settings.
In summary, this partnership not only enhances the resources available to educators and students in the Snoqualmie Valley but also exemplifies a commitment to fostering a robust foundation for literacy and educational equity. Both organizations strive to create an environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive academically, underscoring the essential role of literacy in lifelong learning.
