Foster Youth Gain Vital Skills at Midwestern State University Camp
Midwestern State University recently hosted a transformative weekend camp titled “Youth Experiencing Tomorrow” (YET), aimed at equipping foster youth aged 14 to 17 with essential life skills and career insights. The YET camp is designed to address the unique challenges faced by teenagers in the foster care system, offering an array of workshops and activities focused on pivotal life skills. Stephani Logue, the associate judge for the North Texas Child Protection Court and the visionary behind the YET camp, emphasized the importance of these workshops. “They learn about how to lease an apartment, how to tie a tie, and even enjoyed hands-on experience like changing a tire,” Logue stated.
