SALISBURY — The Upper School College Fair at Salisbury Academy recently brought together an enthusiastic audience of students, families, and interested members of the Rowan-Salisbury community. This event served as a vital platform of exchange between college admission officials and future graduates, providing an enriching environment for dialogue and exploration.
With the presence of six diverse colleges, attendees engaged in meaningful conversations regarding the college admission process and the myriad opportunities that await students post-graduation. “Events like this remind us that college and career readiness is about much more than applications and acceptance letters,” stated Allison Doby, Salisbury Academy’s Director of Enrollment and College Counseling. “It’s about helping students discover their passions and how they can make significant contributions to society. We are dedicated to supporting them every step of the way.”
The College Fair is a crucial component of Salisbury Academy’s comprehensive support system for students preparing for higher education. From the onset of their Upper School journey, students embark on a meticulously designed four-year college exploration plan that integrates academic rigor, mentorship, and practical skill-building.
Specifically, during their junior and senior years, students participate in the Compass Course sequence, allowing them to delve deep into vital college and career preparedness activities. These include résumé construction, interview practice, essay development, and scholarship exploration. Individualized college counseling ensures that each student’s academic path aligns with their personal strengths and future aspirations.
