Mindful Wednesdays and Thursdays: An Invitation to Enhance Well-Being at WPI
In an era marked by heightened stress and fast-paced routines, the importance of mental well-being cannot be overstated. Recognizing this need, the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) community is encouraged to take a moment to pause, reflect, and cultivate mindfulness through the newly instituted “Mindful Wednesdays” and “Mindful Thursdays.” These drop-in meditation sessions provide the perfect opportunity for individuals within the WPI community to alleviate stress and enhance their overall sense of presence and awareness.
Scheduled for Wednesdays from 12:15 PM to 12:35 PM and Thursdays at the same time, these sessions are tailored for participants of all experience levels. Whether one is new to meditation or has practiced for years, the sessions offer guided meditations led by a certified meditation instructor who specializes in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. This accessibility allows everyone to engage in a mindful practice that suits their individual needs.
Participants are invited to join in person at the Center for Well-Being, located in Daniels Hall, Room 102E, or they may opt to participate via Zoom. The virtual platform ensures that those who are unable to attend in person can still benefit from the meditative experience, fostering a greater sense of community and shared mindfulness among WPI affiliates.
In addition to the live sessions, participants will receive a weekly email titled “Mindfulness Tools To-Go” every Friday. This communication will provide valuable resources, including meditation topics, poems shared during the week, and additional mindfulness strategies, fostering ongoing engagement with these wellness practices.
